New Years 2014!

Our New Year's this year was simple was wonderful.
During the day, we tried out grandpa's special cake pop maker and decorator to make some yummy treats!

Nathan deemed himself defender of said treats :)
These two are the cutest best friends ever, and do EVERYTHING together!

Our finished product was actually quite tasty! We made mint brownie cake pops and coated them with a dark chocolate mint candy shell and topped it off with sprinkles of all shapes and sizes.

We even let the kids stay up late to celebrate, but they started winding down a wee bit early! So, we rang in the new year on Eastern Standard Time :) That way they got to enjoy the pinata and celebratory toys with us!

Nathan discovered that this party thingy could double as a retractable sword! (That boy and his love of weapons...)

And then there's daddy.... yes, we were all sober!

The blower wars were new territory for the kids, but Nathan seemed to catch on pretty quickly.

Hannah, on the other hand, was not such a fan- although she did express some interest in starting up a war with Levi (who slept through the whole thing!))... perhaps she just needed some competition more on her level!

Here is the video compilation of our brief festivities!

After all that fun was over the kids crashed pretty quickly and the adults had time to pay a round of cards while waiting on the "real" new year- which passed with a few toasts and we gown-ups were off to bed too!

Out with the old and in with the new- bring it on 2014!
