First, back to Arizona! I mean, who doesn't want to be in the super hot weather for their birthday?
Hehe. OR- it could be more about wanting to spend the week of your birthday with your brother!
Pool time!
Jeremy helped Heather get the blower for their bounce house back online!
Also- Heather got stick-on mustaches....oh boy!
So much facial hair! I guess all the cousins wanted to be like Grandpa Baldwin!
Selfie with mama!
Game time for the boys.
The fruits of the fix it labors is a bounce house in Jason's front room!
While we were in their neck of the woods, we went to visit Grandma and Grandpa Ard!
Pool time with mama!
An early birthday celebration for both of us with the Phoenix peeps!
Go big or go home, eh?
When boys want play time they want to play hard. So for Jeremy's birthday we rented out 2 jet skis, a giant float, and a paddleboard and headed up to Lake Pleasant!
Ready for some playtime in the water?
At one point Dallin and Kayla were on it and it floated to the other side of the cove and I had to swim over and bring them back.
Heather helped me make a cake that looked like the SN rockets (36 was to represent J's age).
I think it turned out really well!
After lift off....it made quite a flame!
We came back home to find that Charming claimed Hannah's doll bed for his own while we were gone.
Then we looked a little closer and realized that he also claimed the top bunk! Look who got the bottom bunk :)
While the kids were still out of school and the weather was lovely we decided to find some national forest and take the kids shooting.
They all loved it!
We had a few targets that we brought, along with some disposable items to shoot at...
A roasting pan- which got hit a few times!
J set up a firing line and taught all the kids about hot and cold range so we could set up and rearrange as needed without risking life or limb.
Nathan's favorite overall was the shotgun, but the first time he shot it it almost knocked him off his feet!
And taking selfies!
Before we knew it, soccer season had begun again!
What better way to celebrate a first game than FroYo with mom?!
And, as usual, I got spoiled for my birthday!
Even though it fell on a Sunday, it was a day full of love and appreciation.
Starting off with cards from the kids and hubby
And ending with a special dinner with family and friends- all prepared by Jeremy!
Even Benji came!
All the food items had a special tag or label to say why he picked it and to highlight something about me.
It was so much food, and lots of my favorites!
So fun to get to celebrate with the Basses and Ken and Cathy.
One last hurrah before back to school:
A giant slip and slide with our friends, the Mortensens!
And last, but not least- we finally finished the last finishing touch in the basement... our Happy Place!
When we were spending hours, days and weeks at a time working as a family on finishing our basement, J and I would brainstorm fun ideas that we could include that would make it special.
Eventually, we came to....a candy supply! J and I built it, put the empty jars up and THEN told the kids what it was for :)
We took them with us to pick out the 36 different candies that would populate the containers.
Then they helped us fill it up!
This is the stuff dreams are made of!
Time to start September!
Wish us luck :)
