A HUGE thanks is owed to my folks for watching the kiddos for a few days while hubby and I escaped to Vail. The week of Thanksgiving was Jeremy's much needed and eagerly anticipated fall break from school. We celebrated Dad's birthday with his and mom on Sunday night and left the kiddos with them and headed off to a mountain getaway! ~Snow and all!
Hubby gets so playful when he gets a break! Hey, I know that guy- I think I married him almost 5 years ago :0)
Missed me!
Watching all the skiers made us both want to give it a go- and we are going to! As a thank you to my dad for all his help with the kids, and just because for us, we are going to go to the scout family ski day on the 17th of this month! I'll let you know how we do!
We even stopped and watched the ski school for the little guys- 4-6ish, and it brought back so many memories!
Vail Village was so beautiful, with very European architecture. Not to mention, I was there with a handsome hunk!
One of my favorite stores there was a Scandinavian store with the most beautiful little girls clothes, shoes, purses, etc. Even their door was eye-catching!
Then, after a long day of shopping and walking in the snow, we came back to the hotel and got to thaw in the hot tub WHILE it was snowing! You can't tell from the picture, but it was snowing!
One of my favorite things we did while we were there happened in the middle of the "Village" in Beaver Creek. They had an outdoor ice skating rink surrounded by this quaint village and Christmas lights- plus all the way around it there were fireplaces, some tall ones to stand around right off the rink and others in the middle of comfy outdoor seating for larger groups. It was GREAT!

And THIS guys was quite a stud on those skates! He's got some moves!

Good thing, because he spend a decent amount of time holding me up :)
Here's a little teaser I made in iMovie today:
We came back on Thanksgiving day to my parent's house, where we had and amazing meal in the newly remodeled dining room. While we were waiting for dinner, Nathan talked Uncle Will into reading to him!
After dinner was all put away, out came the Black Friday ads. We started making battle plans right away since the sales started so early this year! (And Yes, that is my hubby chugging down a bottle of sparkling cider....shameful isn't it? )
All in all it was a FANTASTIC getaway, that could not have happened without the help of my parents. We had a great Thanksgiving with them, and are looking forward to all the December activities together!
