My mom took us to the Denver Aquarium and both the kids had a blast there!
Nathan was big enough this time to climb up and see into the tops of some of the tanks- and swimming atop one he found ducks!
If you have been to the aquarium you will realize these pictures are not in order of the exhibits, but hey- I love them all anyways.
Mommy and Nathan time! He could see both tigers from up there and was a little aprehensive about being there. He had a hard time loosening up after the "Flash Flood" exhibit :)
Nathan's favorite display, by far, was the Nemo and Dory fish tank.
As soon as he spotted it he ran over and climbed the fake tree next to it so he could see them better.
Hannah found the tree too, from her seat in the wagon!
They have a REALLY cool shark display, among other things. This was the meanest looking one (I think).
Nathan liked that one too, but it made him a little nervous.
He would only stand with his back to it for a picture if grandma held his hand :)
There's his tail too! Smile for mama...
Hannah liked looking at everything (but mostly the camera- little ham!)
Next to the camera, she preferred watching her brother experience the fish....if he thinks they are cool than they must be!
I love this picture! You can see the size of some of the fish in there in relation to the kids.
Something fun to see around every corner!
As you can see, nobody was interested in taking a picture with mom... oh well.
One of my favorites are the jellyfish. I think these things are amazing!
Despite a lot of apprehension, and grandma getting bit on her first try, Nathan actually fed the sting rays! You can see they are quite anxious for their food!
That is more than I was willing to do! Mommy is not brave when it comes to sting rays!
Thank goodness for brave grandmas who set the example and encourage these things :)
Another favorite among all parties was the tunnel where there is glass al around you with lots of neat things swimming all over.
I actually saw a tiny fluorescent blue fish swim into this guy's mouth and start eating something on the inside of his mouth. Trusting little fish- and not a picky eater I guess!
Nathan called the rays "Smiley face fish" or "happy fish" because it looks like they have a smiley face on their under side.
This was the "mad face fish" or the "angry fish" because he has an angry face :)
Nathan's favorite in this tank- the sea turtles, who were "eating" the bubbles up at the top of the tank.
Hannah cuted grandma into taking her out of the wagon and putting her on her shoulders...until she spit up all over her- sad day...no pictures of that.
Last, but not least- I convinced Nathan to stand by the plastic shark on the bench outside on the way home. He wasn't completely convinced he was a fake shark :)
There's grandma with my two lucky kiddos. Thanks a ton for taking us!!! What a fun day :)
