We had a quiet little new year's celebration this year, since Ken and Cathy had gone out to Utah with Heather and Will to help them drive the truck and get settled into their new place. Jason had a hot date, and Jamie and Dan both had to be up and horrific hours for work.
Nevertheless, we had a celebratory family dinner, put the kids to bed and watched a movie together until just before midnight. It was simple, but nice.
Then, on New Year's day we had a family celebration. Ken and Cathy drove straight in to our place from Utah, My folks came down with Tyler and Anna and Dan and Jamie even got to come!
Dan was so in love with our little cuddle bug, and she was quite content with being held by Uncle Dan.
Nathan got to do a few sparklers while we were getting the pinata rigged up in the large tree out front.
Come on Anna! You hit like a girl!
Jamie was so cold she was ready to try hitting it from inside her blanket :)
The spectators in black!
This is the closest Dan or Hannah got to hitting the pinata this year. They were both quite content to stay where they were.
Finally, Jamie ditched the blanket to get in some real hitting action on the candy-filled party hat!
Even Tyler gave it some justice with a few good whacks.
Nathan was REALLY into it this year. He wanted to try between everyone else's turns.
And finally, Jeremy got the goodness out of it!
It was so nice to turn the year with our family together, having fun. Sadly, the turn of the year meant back home for Tyler, off to California for Anna, and no more Grandma, Grandpa, Heather, Will, or Arizona crew for a while.
We will miss all of you and hope to keep in touch all year round.
Happy New Year!
