The Smith family came to visit the weekend after my birthday! This was so fabulous! It was much needed to see our good friends after such a long week! (Our fridge went out, we got ever-run by bees, Nathan get sick, blah, blah, blah...) I was so ready for some fun!
Sadly, for the first time in almost a month, we had a showing scheduled for Saturday morning. On the bright side, that meant breakfast at IHop!
Here's the beautiful Smith family while we were waiting for a table- you can't even tell Sharon is 7 months pregnant!
Eve was so fun to watch, and to take pictures of! For those of you who have not met her in person, I took LOTS of pictures of her :) She is so adorable, and has the most gorgeous, curly blonde hair!
She was pretty intently watching the balloon man across the restaurant here.
This is when she finally figured out what he was doing :)
There's always fun to be had sinking mom's lemon in her water...
Mom doesn't seem to mind too much!
Hannah stole Andrew;s heart with her snuggliness, and Andrew won Hannah's by always holding her! What a team!
Then, at long last, the balloon man came to our table!
He was super talented, and made both Eve and Nathan balloons.
Eve got a platypus- not bad, eh?
Nathan opted for an Angry bird, but wasn't sold on his. "Mom, is this an Angry bird?" :)
By the time we finished breakfast it was pretty rainy, so we headed back home to let the kids nap and play as needed.
Eve LOVED "holding" Hannah, and every time she saw her she'd put her arms out and say, "Hold. Hold Hannah." It was so cute! Hannah, however, does not see herself as a baby, and was not a fan of being "held.

She was much more excited about playing with Eve than being her toy :)
We chatted away the afternoon in the play room while the kids went to town. It was pretty fun, minus the lack of adult seating!
Andrew gave Nathan a few pointers on his machine gun skills :)
And Eve fell in love with this special baby doll I have for Hannah when she's a little older. We had to sneak it away and tell her it was sleeping, but she kept asking for the "udder [other] baby doll"- so sweet! She is going to be a great big sister.
After naps, Nathan started teaching Eve to read!
Then it was time for recess!
Nathan showed her how it's done...
... and it didn't take Eve very long to catch on! It was so cute to watch her curly blonde hair flying everywhere while she bounced :)
After recess, Eve's education continued as she learned about trucks and tractors. Boys are silly things :)
He did teach her something fun, though- climbing like a monkey in the windows!

I had a blast snapping a few pictures of Eve while she was sitting in the family room. She has so many expressions, and went through a few stages of warming up to me, but I loved so many of them I decided to include several!

She was not very keen on the idea of me talking to her at first- she is so somber in this picture it reminds me of something you'd see pop up on your computer asking you to donate money to some children's cause! But, I still love the big blue eyes and the curls!
After a few moments, I went from being an annoyance to being intriguing. What is that black thing anyways, and why is it flashing at me?
Then she decided to recite her favorite book for me! "Oh how many, many feet... you... meet!"

After a little bit she just played for me so I got a few shots of her just being silly.
Sunday we went to church together (I'm pretty sure we won the most disturbing pew award... so much fussing and up and down with babies, daddies and mommies... ) Then we came home, had dinner and one last chat before they took off for home.
It was delightful having them here for the weekend, and we are sooooo excited to go and visit them for the longer holiday weekend coming up! Nathan has not stopped asking how long until we go... my evil plan is working ...hehehe!
What a blessing to finally be close enough to such good friends and a good family to get to enjoy their company a little more often.
