Okay, so after Branson I got fat and lazy and stopped blogging for a bit- now it's time to catch up! First things first, we finished up our traveling for the baby visits. We spent a good portion of our summer and fall weekends driving out to Denver to see my OB, which I am still glad we did- but it was a LOT of driving!
To give out kids a break, we would try and do some kind of fun outing while we were there so it did not seem like we just drove and drove, sat in a boring Dr.'s office, and then drove and drove home all over. Our kids favorite place to visit in Colorado: Little Monkey Bizness! So, here are a few pictures and movies from our most recent adventure there:
The movies are of this same play area because I was too fat, tired and lazy to follow them around and really capture everything. Sorry! But, here are the videos of the swinging fun!
As our trips have been a frequent weekend venture, our kids have learned to love gas stops! They both love to get out of the car (even when it's cold and windy) to help daddy pump the gas or wash the windows and headlights. Here is a video of Hannah being Daddy's helper somewhere in Kansas on our way home from one of our trips:
And lastly in the catch-up game, I have some pictures of our conference weekend. Between sessions we went for a picnic with some friends to the park by our house and Jeremy lit some rockets off with the kids. It was such a lovely day to be outside, and the kids needed to get wiggles out so we could continue to enjoy the talks- so it was perfect!
Jeremy's captive audience:
They each took turns pushing the launch button, which was super cool for the boys!
Hannah was mostly excited about the brownie cupcakes I had made that she was finally allowed to eat!
Hannah did eventually take her turn pushing the button, though!
Love these boys! Best friends rock!
Here are the boys, their daddies and the Helicat (which we had doubts about ever seeing again!) This rocket had been MacGyvered several times, and today- the engine was being held in by a bobby pin... yes, from the bottom of a purse or diaper bag... get ready to duck!
The boys pushed the button together for the final launch of the day.
Yes, that is actually the angle it took off at, and it tipped down even further and leveled off about 20 feet about the ground. The adults watched in horror and the boys with excitement as it took off across the park horizantally "like a missile"- thank you Nathan.
The boys went chasing after it, only to find...
.. it had buried itself into the side of a hill on the other side of the park, less than 3 feet off the jogging path! Good thing there were not many people at the park that day!
The boys worked together, but ended up needing Jeremy to pull it out of the ground, since it was about 6 inches into the dirt!
That was an exciting end to a day at the park, and wore the kids out just enough to crash upon arriving home so we could enjoy the rest of conference. It was a fabulous weekend, and one of the first conferences in a long time that I can remember getting to see all the sessions for!
Next up: Having the baby!
Oh- one more thing I found! Here is a movie compilation of the kids (mostly Nathan) playing with the Bongo ball in our family room. Judging by Hannah's speech, I'd guess this was sometime this summer. Crazy how much they change and how fast! Anyways, it's a little long, but Nathan loves this movie so I'm posting it for him (and anyone else who wants to sneak a peek at family playtime)
- Enjoy!
