Our pumpkin carving this year took a couple of different "sessions"- if you will :)
Daddy helped the kids empty out all of the pumpkins a little early so we could take pictures of Levi in the biggest one. So, here we are in PJ's emptying pumpkins just before bed!
Yummy pumpkin guts!
Here are our 3 empty creations, all ready to be carved.
Say cheese!
(oops, Levi was passing some gas in that one, lets try again!)
Levi is feeling better, but the other two have lost interest .. oh well!
Next day- all ready to carve!
We got a cool "pumpkin punch" thingy so the kids could kinds to their own design... it was better in concept than in practice. But, the kids got to use the blunt side of a butter knife to hammer out the pieces after daddy did the punching!
Let's light 'em up and see what we have! Sounds like a daddy job :)
Which one of these is not like the other?
Each punch broke before even completing one pumpkin, and since there were only 2 punches, I had to free-hand Levi's pumpkin!
3 Pumpkins and 3 kiddos- pretty good, eh?
Ta-da! Love them! The kids were super proud of their creations, and it was cool to see them all lit up.
Next up- the Trunk-or-Treat! This year Nathan picked the family theme since he REALLY wanted to be Peter Pan. Hannah was Tinkerbell, Jeremy took on the role of Captain Hook, and I went as Wendy, with Levi in tow as her baby brother ...ish.
Nathan spent most of his night sword fighting with Hook at every chance he got!
Hannah spend her night trying to eat her spoils when we weren't looking :)
After the Trunk-or-Treat we went over to Nathan's best friend's house for a halloween party. The plan was for the kids to go out together and do some door-to-door, but they were much happier eating what they already had and playing together :)
We did, however, manage to get a picture of the 5 of us together :)
(gotta love hubby's fake mustache!)
Hannah spent most of her evening playing mommy to Levi :)
This is her favorite thing to do every day now!
Nathan got to play rough and tough with the boys, and even daddy in some epic plane, and sword fights :) Second to that, they LOVED answering the door and handing out candy! The best one I saw was Nathan trying to give candy to an older kid with a scary mask on under the classic black hooded robe... you know the look. Nathan had his hand as far away from the rest of his body as he could get it and practically chucked the candy at the kid's bucket before running inside and slamming the door :)
All in all, a great Halloween! It was wonderful to get to play with our kids and socialize with some friends as a little Disney family :)
