Pumpkin Carving Party!

Time to carve all those amazing pumpkins we gathered!
Levi is just about as big as his!

I tried a new recipe I found online for a super easy home-made chicken pot pie... they turned out SUPER yummy!!!!

To make things just a little more interesting, and competitive, we decided to have a pumpkin carving contest this year. We would set all the pumpkins out on our porch Halloween night and each of the trick-or-treaters and their guardians would be asked to cast a vote for their favorite pumpkin. Whoever had the most votes at the end of the night would win a Costco (giant) pumpkin pie with whipped cream :)

The plan worked. The game was on!

Stage 1 for Ken and Jeremy: gutting the pumpkins

Stage 1 for Jason and Rasy: build a fool proof plan to win the carving contest!

Now we can start cutting!!!
Happy first pumpkin carving, Rasy!

This is Jason being jealous that his newby wifey is way better at this than he is :)

Everyone is now hard at work creating their master pieces!... except Hannah who managed to find something to stuff in her mouth... crazy girl!

Jeremy is smiling because his master plan is far more than meets the eye... check out the Halloween display of his pumpkin!

Our finished products! They all looked amazing!
Now it's all up the the trick-or-treaters and their chaperones to decide which one is the best!

The goofy face is Levis (carved by mom) and the Pirate Kitty is Nathans

The ghost is Cathys and the Vampire (that looked a bit like Obama at first....) was Kens

The angry face is Hannahs (she picked the design from Google images, I free handed it onto paper, she and I punched out the holes to create the face together)

The one with the spider hanging in the open space is Jasons and the haunted castle is Rasys

The flaming mad face is Jeremys and the owl was mine.

May the best pumpkin win!
