Father's Day Festivities!

As is tradition, we did our rocket launching and father's day bbq on Sunday afternoon.

It started out a bit windy, but thank goodness grandpa planned ahead and brought some kites!

While the kiddos were playing with kites, Jeremy was prepping our ever growing collection of rockets for launch... with the help of his side kick, Nathan.

We found this great new park less than 10 minutes from our house with a splash pad, several large play areas AND a huge astroturf field adjacent to it... which was our launch site of choice this year. We pretty much had the entire place to ourselves, too.

It's hard to see, but grandpa got roped into teaching all the kiddos to fly kites!

At long last Jason, Rasy and Kayla arrived... with their drone in tow :)
Levi decided to help walk Kayla over.

All ready to go, and making his way over to pick a launch site!

Here's our little scar face and his hat (which he wears anytime we are outside to keep his scar out of the sun). Yes, he looks ridiculous, but it's worth it!

Happy Father's Day to these two awesome dads!

Jason is our resident expert on positioning the rockets for ideal retrieval, so he got to make the call on almost every angle... and what do ya know we had 100% retrieval this year!

All the kids got to take turns pushing the button... the younger ones had help from the adults since it took 2 hands to do.
Kylie's turn to launch with grandpa!

And now Levi...

BLAST OFF!
(You can see Jason filming with his drone in the background... if I ever get that footage I will share it!)

Look at this picture perfect little family!

And then there's my wild little princess :)
Gotta love it!

These girls... running til Tori turned colors!
Good thing grandma brought everyone candy filled fans :)

Just Chillin' - as it should be!

Jeremy snapped this one of Nathan and I... he is getting so big!

I had the bright idea of gathering all the grandkids around grandpa's chair for a picture...
But Kayla was none too happy about it, and when Dallin saw her screaming he started to panic.
So, here's what we got!

Kayla decided she hates rockets, and pretty much looked like this til she found the splash park around the corner :)

But Tori was all about it!

I even got to launch one this year!
(All by myself.. haha)

Until Levi saw an empty spot... then he ran over to help me with the buttons :)

Nathan was able to catch 2 of them before they even hit the ground!

Here's Jason using his drone to take a family photo :)

Our retrieval committee:

They do good work!

Sparky Griswald... I mean Jeremy... in his epic first launch :)

Hannah was SO close to catching this one before it hit the ground... but was right there to grab it when it did. Next year she will make it!

After we launched each rocket several times (for a total of 18 launches!) we packed up in favor of food and headed back to our place for a nice bbq of ribs, chicken, chips and salad followed by Jamie's contribution of Pineapple Pie!

Yet another great Father's day and a fitting celebration in honor of their matchless contributions in our lives. Not a day goes by that I don't thank Heavenly Father for the blessing of having Jeremy as the father of my children. I couldn't imagine life any other way. Love you!
