Hannah's birthday fell on a Saturday this year, so she got all the festivities in one day!
Starting with the traditional breakfast donut in bed accompanied by sibling cards and gifts.
Her party was at 11 am at a local park/splash pad (where we did Father's Day, actually!)
So after breakfast we got ready, loaded up and headed over to set up!
Here's her cake... guess what the Theme was :)
Here's my pretty girl- getting so big!
She was pretty happy that I did my hair like Moana's mom did in the movie :)
Tomatoa Chicken sandwiches... yummy!
Watermelon pops!
And this was my way of showing Hannah I love her this year!
The highlight of her life to date (as she reports it) is always the daddy daughter ball a few years ago.. but as I picked her brain about what she really loved about that, turns out it was the candy buffet they had! So, this year I made her a Moana themed candy buffet with all her favorite candies in it.
Using her favorite candies made me stretch the creativeness of the Moana theme a bit.. but it worked!
Ocean Jewels = Jolly Ranchers
Grandma Tala's Canes = Dum Dums
Te Fiti's Wisdom = Smarties
Mauis Sea Eels = Gummy Worms
(from the song "Your Welcome" where he says.. "I killed and eel, burried it's guts, sprouted a tree now you got coconuts!")
Motu Nui Island Fruits = Skittles
Tomatoa's Shiny Treasure = Twix and Reeces PB Cups
Hei Hei's Rocks = Gumballs
We also painted several coconuts to look like Kakamora and found these oars in the clearance isle at Hobby Lobby!
There was this really cool maze on the ground at the park where the finish symbol looked like the heart of Te Fiti swirl, so we challeneged the kids to hit the Kakamora through the maze to earn their own heart of Te Fiti! (A large green glass rock with the design painted on with glow in the dark puff paint)
These were the bags for the candy buffet.. and you can see Hannah filled hers up with plenty of goodies!
Here are all the kiddos!
And now everybody!
That's our big 6 year old!
Somehow Dallin got put in charge of collecting up the unwanted lei's :)
These guys had just come home from a week long business trip out to San Fransisco, so they missed the group photos.. but they did make it!
Lighting candles at a park is always a little tricky... but our super dad made it happen!
Dad found Levi's hat drying out in the sun and decided to try it on for size :)
Looks good, honey!
At home after the party, Hannah opened the remainder of her presents.
It was a great day, full of good food, family, friends and fun!
We are so blessed to have this firecracker of a princess in our family. I can't believe it has been 6 years already! She is growing up to be a beautiful, spirited, kind girl. She is a great sister, and a super good helper around the house too! She is the most popular girl at church- knows everyone and everyone knows her... and is well loved by her school teachers, friends, church teachers and neighbors- not to mention her family :) Love ya Sis! Happy Birthday!
