Adventures in Science and Cool Stuff

We took a rainy day walk and enjoyed a worm parade!

Here is a cute video of some of the discovery action:

Jeremy also helped the kids assemble a solar system model, inclduing painting it with glow in the dark paint and making a glow in the dark star background on the roof of the big boys' room :)

Dad of the year, also decided that he never got to build a cool paper mache volcano as a kid so he was going to do it with ours.
It was quite the process!
(Side note: Hannah opted to be the official photographer of this adventure, so she took all the pictures and videos with my phone!)

Cheese!

So messy!

After a couple days of drying out it was time to paint!

Even Dallin got a turn to spray it :)

After the spray paint dried, Nathan painted on some lava with a paint brush.

Now, it's time to errupt it!
With some viengar colored with food dye, a baking soda bomb wrapped in TP (to give a slight delay to the reaction) and several smoke bombs- we were ready!

All in all, a great success! Everyone had a great time with it!

We also took the kids to the friends and family day at Ken's work, Sierra Nevada Corporation and got to learn and see a lot about what they do. Super cool! We got to see the DreamChaser space craft as well as where they do a lot of their testing on different components designed to go into space.

Hurray for bring your grandkids to tour your work day :)
Note the difference in my kiddos:
Question- "What was your favorite thing about today?
Nathan- "Everything! I really loved the giant 3D printers, and the communications testing room!..."
Hannah- "The lunch room! Did you see all those machines with snacks in them?!"
Levi- "Grandpa's desk with the Jelly Bean jar on it."

The big kids and I went to all 3 days of Cub Day camp again this year!
Levi and Hannah love to go to Mini Camp, and I got to man an area in the shooting sports arena.
On the second day, for the morning presentation they brought in a Blackhawk helicopter and we got to walk out and see/touch it up close after watching it land! Super cool. (In case you can't tell, that is where these next 2 pictures were taken.)

And we can't leave out a day at the museum!

Next up- the June events!
