Keeping busy is not hard to do with our little family these days :) Nathan is now playing basketball and has practice every Thursday evening and games every Saturday morning. From hanging out after one basketball game, we discovered that both our local Home Depot and Lowes offer free children's projects almost every Saturday morning. So, we went to check it out. Turns out- it was super cool! AND, we ran into tons of friends from church :)
This time, they were making a Monster's University treasure box (looks like a recipe box, but with Monster stickers on it). They even give out aprons and have little kid-size hammers :)
Nathan was so proud of his new "lunch box"- as he deemed it- that he put together almost all by himself! (Mom or dad started the nails and he pounded them all in and put all the stickers on)
Hannah didn't show much interest in the project, but REALLY loved the tractor/mower section of Lowes :) Our little Oklahoma Princess-
And, for your enjoyment- after lunch, I glanced over at Hannah, who had asked for katchup, and this is what I saw: (couldn't help but laugh and grab the camera before throwing her in the shower!)
We also discovered a super fun new place right next to daddy's work. Bartlesville has a "Kiddie Park" that is full of the mini carinval rides. They each cost $0.50 to ride, so for $10 we got in a full evening of fun. We met up with 2 other families there after Jeremy got off work and played until the kids all fell apart. Then stopped for shakes at sonic (since they are all half price after 8pm!) and headed home.

Nathan says, "Hey mom! My plane has targets on it!" - not sure how I feel about that :)
Hannah did well on most of the rides, but after less than a minute on this spinning wonder, got out of her seat, couldn't get back in and was just flying around until she bonked her head. They stopped the ride and I rescued her as she was saying frantically, "That ride is scary!"
After that we took a relaxing stop at the caged-in ferris wheel.
Hannah was so happy about this one, and I even got a movie of her excitedly declaring, "Mom, not scary! It's not scary!" It was so cute.

Once it showed up Hannah decided she was interested :)

Great fun had by all, and definitely a place to visit again!

The weather here has gotten quite warm again, and so the beauty of the splash park returns!
Nathan and his buddy Xy had a blast running around the park!
Hannah was in and out, but enjoyed herself just the same.
Such a cuttie! Last look at the old swimmy, though- 'cause we got a new one for her birthday! More on that coming up :)
Yet another fun day well spent with friends- and yes- we stopped again for frozen goodies on the way home! This time we tried a frozen yogurt place that has TONS of self-serve flavors and toppings. The kids loved creating and eating their own masterpieces while we sat outside at a shaded table to dry off.

We also celebrated our 6th Anniversary of the 14th. We got a sitter for the kiddos and went out for one of my favorite outings/dinners: Fondue. Yes, that's right- Tulsa has a Melting Pot! It was great. We even played a super cheesy game and set a topic for each of the four courses:
Cheese: While we devoured our yummy cheese fondue and dippers we decided to talk about "something cheesy"- which ended up being the things we love and admire about each other.
Salad: We wanted to pick "something fresh" for this portion of our meal- which ended up being our dreams and hopes for the next 5 years.
Main Entre (we had several flavors of steak, some shrimp, pork, chicken and veggies): we decided this should be "something substantial"- during this portion of the meal Jeremy read me his letter he wrote me and we talked about our successes and failures over the last 6 years- the changes in us and our lives for better or worse, and what we have learned.
Dessert: The most heavenly portion of the meal, a chocolate fondue with caramel swirls, sprinkled with caramelized pralines... served with pound cake, cheese cake, fresh fruits of all sorts, rice crispies, marshmallows and even brownie bites!- We had to conclude with something sweet, and so decided on a game of "remember when"- recalling all our fondest memories or funny moments.
Yes, it was a 2.5 hour dinner- and I ate entirely too much! But, it was a lovely way to spend the evening of our anniversary. It has been a great 6 years, and I look forward to the eternity before us.

And, once again we have enjoyed some terrific thunder storms this spring and summer, leaving large amounts of warm rain water in the streets. Here is some uncut footage I just grabbed with my phone one afternoon the kids discovered their own "tiny river" in front of our house :)
