Our extra day to festivize!

Ken and Cathy arrived late on the 25th, and Jeremy had to work on the 26th and 27th, so we postponed our Christmas Day until Sat. the 28th so grandma and grandpa could join in the fun with us.
This gave us a couple of extra days to do festive things leading up to our Christmas :)

So, on actual Christmas we laid pretty low (seeing as how our children believe in Santa and would not understand the discrepancy of celebrating on a different day than the rest of the world.)

I opened my package from Anna anyways, which totally made my day! It was like getting Christmas all wrapped up in a box!- and I have to say that the little blue cup thing is the BEST candle I have ever owned...smells terrific, and fills the whole house with it's aroma (which smelled exactly like freshly baked vanilla cake). Thanks Anna!

We also had some good fun getting ready for Grandma and Grandpa to arrive! (well, it was all fun and games until one of the monkeys fell off the bed- )

It's a little long, but a fun clip of the action just the same!

On the evening of the 26th we went to the Muskogee Castle, which had been transformed into a "Christmas Castle". Leading up to the castle parking lot we drove through a maze of hundreds of inflatable decorations.

Everyone there was dressed to fit their part! Here are the kids with the castle guards:

Interestingly enough, the kids were far more impressed with a Rudolph reindeer made of tinsel. So, that is where we got a picture of all of us.
Levi is again sleeping, but at least he is in the picture this time!

Outside they had a petting zoo where the kids got to feed and pet goats and an enormous bunny!

They also got to ride some ponies, which they both LOVED!

We ended out night there with a tractor-pulled hayride through more inflatables and the "village" surrounding the castle.

Here is all of us by our ride!

"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way...."

The next day we tried to assemble a pre-packaged gingerbread house, to no avail! But grandpa and the kids did their best to decorate it anyways :)

The rest of out holiday festivities will be covered in the post about our Christmas day!
How fun it was to get to do so much to celebrate the Christmas season this year.
