Levi's first birthday!

The Friday we left Petaluma was Levi's first birthday, but since we spent the next 2 days on the road, we celebrated him on Sunday after we got home.

I decided to make his cake festive I would try making a "blue velvet" cake with white frosting... also hoping that the lack of die in the frosting would help prevent disaster :)

Here is his smash cake:

I made a tray of regular sized and then some mini ones too, just for variety.

Here's our birthday boy all Abercrombie style and ready for his cupcake!

Don't those look yummy?!

Quick selfie with Aunt Rasy...

And we had to sing with his cupcake far enough away from him he could not reach it just to get through the song :)

Once we gave it to him... he went to town!

After a prelimiary examination...

He decided this was for eating!

And what great eating it was!

Love the crossed-eyed examination of his frosting covered hands :)

A couple quick shots with mom and dad... hey lets share with mama!

Nothing tastier than squishy cupcake :)

When he had demolished not one but 2 cupcakes, he decided in a moment of panic that he required milk... and began shrieking for it!

After his fill, the new objective became to make a blue paste on his tray with crumbs and milk...
at which point it was time to intervene and wash up!

 Look at that face!

A quick wash down and some new jammies and we had a fresh boy.

Had to sneak in a shot of the newly weds and Rasy's hot new hair cut!

Then it was everyone else's turn to enjoy some cake while Levi wound down.
Here is our Hannah with her prized cupcake!

It was a little late, and very simple, but we sure did enjoy celebrating Levi's birthday with him.
He brings so much joy to everyone in our family I just can't imagine life without my precious little man. Here's looking forward to many many more birthdays with this amazing boy!
