San Francisco Fun!

On Thursday we decided to venture in to San Francisco.
We drove about 30 minutes to get to a ferry that would take us over.

The kids all loved the ferry ride- even, or especially Levi!

Anna got the bright idea to try and "fix" Hannah's pony tail and snapped the rubber band!

This is about what Hannah looked like the rest of the boat ride :)

Jeremy stole my camera for a second and took a few pics of me with the boys :)

Nathan was busy trying out all his new ninja moves on the invisible bad guys on the boat.

The wind in his shirt made his muscles look huge!

This little guy was like a puppy with his head out the window!

We got to pass Alcatraz on our way in.. that was kinda cool to see.

Once we docked we met up with Duncan, who had just finished work a few blocks away.

Here's our crew wandering the streets of San Francisco!

We stopped at Pier 39, which was super cool.

But on the way there....

Hannah got tired and hitched a ride on daddy's shoulders!

We stopped for a photo on this cool old wooden dock...

And then we saw all the boats!

Family photo!

Hannah found a gigantic leaf that she couldn't stop waving even for a picture :)

... and Nathan got to play the Hark Rock guitar.

Pier 39 was full of fun things to see!

Even sea lions!

And a double decker carousel!

There was a special store full of stuff made just for left handed people, so of course we had to check that out!

Hannah found all kinds of fun things to make friends with along the way:

Here is the sunset behind the Golden Gate Bridge!

After a long afternoon of exploration we stopped for some food at the San Francisco Bread Company... yummy. Anna's pizza looked almost as amazing as my grilled cheese tasted :)

After dinner we began a trek up to Ghiradeli Square - you guessed it- dedicated to chocolate!

This time Anna was Hannah's ride :)

Along the classically hilly streets we saw a giant alligator made of bread...

and of course the trolley!

Then, there it was... gleaming in the distance....

After scarfing our free samples, we went into the shop and ordered dessert.

The kids got ice cream in a chocolate dipped waffle bowl.

Here are Anna and Duncan looking not happy about me taking a picture... if only I had waited until after their brownie fudge sundae had arrived!

Jeremy and had some of the most amazing hot chocolate known to man, and then we stopped to see the displays on how chocolate is made on the way out.

As we made our way back to the ferry we got to see the city light up in all it's glory.

Bridges and all, with the lights on the water... so awesome!

Not everyone was up to taking in the breathtaking night life, though.

Safe and sound back aboard the ferry, Jeremy took a few last shots of me with the scenery.

Good bye San Francisco!

Back at home, with kids in bed we had room for a little more chocolate... this time fondue style!

This made for an excellent last night in Petaluma, as the next day we were to begin our journey home.
Thanks a million to Anna and Duncan (and Owen and Kaia) for putting up with us for the week. We had a wonderful time visiting and falling in love with Petaluma, California!
Before leaving the next day we had a lunch of fish and chips and said good bye for now... until next time! Love you both!
