Special Visitors!

Virginia, Dave, James, Charlotte and their baby all came to visit Ken and got to stay with us for a few days.

While they were here they hosted a special steak dinner bbq at Craig where we all got to gather and mingle, eat great food and catch up.

This little man sure missed his grandpa!

It was a great time. Thanks so much to the McKays for hosting a fabulous party!
It was such a pleasure to have you all come and visit. Hope to see you again soon.

Next up we had Heather and Andrew come and stay with us, as a sort of last hurrah with the family before they moved out to the Rochester area of New York!

While they were here we took a little trip to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, which was super fun.

We got to feed the giraffes :)

And take special rides :)

Climb on tons of cool things :)

And see a ton of really great animals!

One of my favorite things about this zoo is how close you get to be to all the animals.

Here are all of my cubs...

looking at the new lion cubs!

The elephants were my favorite this time, because they really put on a show!
They played with their toys...

Posed for pictures in the dirt...

and even went for a big splash around in the pool!

Nathan had a moment with the emu, trying to visualize what dinosaurs really looked like, since people think more and more they were giant birds :)

Ummm. how much trouble would I be in if I jumped off this thing?

The kangaroos were super friendly, and came right up to the wire and let the kids pet them!

Here's the whole zoo-going clan!

And a very lazy grizzly.

For once, we even got to see the wolves! We got there right after they through some meaty bones at the front of the cage, so they came right up to get them.

We pet a cool African box turtle.

And Kylie finally met her match :)

Nathan was SUPER excited to see real poison dart frogs. He has taken an interest in learning about them and really liked getting to see some real ones up close.

They look fake, but they were hopping around and as real as any other animal in that zoo!

Lastly, we got to see the baby orangutan with her mommy.
So fun!

Hannah was pretty tired after wandering all through the steep hills of the zoo, so she hitched a ride back on dad (since the wagon was taken).

Thanks daddy!

What a great day at the zoo with our cousins and family.
Hope we can do it again soon!
