Mother's Day sorta started on Friday for us.
We had a backyard family camp out with a fire, hot dogs, marshmallows and all!
The kids LOVED feeding the fire with various sticks and logs we had gathered from around the yard (result of lots of snow on big trees, I guess!)
We all stayed up late, told stories around the fire, ate lots of goodies, and enjoyed the treat of a warm night after such a long period of cold.
And yes, mom and dad even slept in the tent....
on a queen size air mattress!
The next morning we got up nice and early to the pleasant sound of birds, and Levi telling me, "Mom, I need to go potty!"
We cleaned up our camp and headed out to Nathan's 9 am soccer game, after which we went to our traditional Mother's Day brunch at The Original Pancake House (which again did not disappoint!).
By this point the nasty weather had returned. It was cold and drizzly all day. But perfect for filling our bellies with good food and then heading home for naps.
Yep, we ALL came home and took naps! Glorious Day!
That afternoon Jeremy and the kids cleaned up the house and made a yummy Mother's Day dinner for me!
I got these lovely roses on Sunday morning, along with a peaceful Sunday before and at church :)
After church we went to Jason and Rasy's house for dinner and games. Lovely day.
And to continue the fun... on Monday night it was Super Hero night at Texas Roadhouse!
Kid's ate free if they came dressed as super heroes, and we went just early enough to get the discounted early bird dinner- such a deal!
They also had a face painter and a balloon artist in the house to compliment all the waiters being in costume. Fun times!
Levi was not up for getting his face painted, but the other two did!
Hannah's was exceptionally done! She told the lady she was dressed as Black Widow, and this is what she got!
We had to take pictures of the balloon weapons they got as soon as we got home because how long can you really expect balloon light sabers and bows and arrows to last?
A quick video of the fun for you to enjoy!
All in all it was a wonderful weekend, full of great time with my family and appreciating the gift of motherhood in my life.
