So, Independence day fell the day after we came home from the hospital with Dallin, so we kept it pretty low key this year!
In the morning we went to the ward breakfast, which ran out of food before we even got there! But, it was at the park, so it was good for the kids to get out and play with their friends for a bit.
Then we went to the fireworks stand and stocked up for later that evening!
We had a little BBQ at our house with grandma and grandpa and Jason and Rasy with her mom and their new baby, Kayla.
Jeremy took the kids to the local Parker show along with Rasy, Jason and Rasy's mom.
When they got back, we did a handful of fireworks out front until the kids started to fall apart and be notably unwise about their use of fireworks :)
We found the flaming swords again this year, and again they were a big hit!
Everyone had fun grabbing from the pile and lighting what they wanted :)
Uncle Jason and Aunt Rasy were great helpers and made sure the kids didn't do anything too crazy!
Levi was in love with his fire gun, and we were all glad that he could not figure out how to work it- although that was not from a lack of trying!
Look at this cute festive couple!
And the bros :)
Looks like Rasy found the flaming swords!
And the strobes... they get the kids dancing every time!
It wasn't anything quite as crazy as we have done in the past, but it was a nice family celebration of Independence Day. After all, we are celebrating the freedom that we and our children enjoy, so what better way to do that than enjoy some time together!
