As is tradition, Nathan got his birthday donut breakfast in bed.
We could barely fit all the candles on his donut this year!
Make a wish!
Time to share birthday letters and surprises from siblings.
His party wasn't until the day after his actual birthday, so on his birthday I let him have a free day.
No shock he decided to play computer games a good portion of the day! It was surprising, however, that Charming spend the day in his lap watching his mouse :)
That night we went to see the Denver Zoo Lights. Bundle up, cause it's gonna be cold!
The kids had a great time!
Everyone in Santa's sleigh :)
Time to pose with Frosty!
The lights were spectacular!
Here's Jamie pulling Kylie and Levi in her wagon. Those two crack me up, such funny friends!
Huddle in!
Nathan wanted a picture with the Dragon :)
Here's where we stopped for hot chocolate! Yummmy.
The next day we took 13 boys to Boondocks for the Tuesday special, which includes unlimited laser tag, bowling and arcade games!
Afterwards, those who could came back to our house for cake and pizza.
He wanted a Harry Potter theme this year, so I did what I could :)
Everyone had a BLAST! We were almost the only people in the whole place, so they got to play round after round of laser tag without even taking off the equipment, and never had to wait to play any of the games.
Girl bench!
After friends went home he got to open his mother-load of presents!
Harry Potter Trivia,
Pokemon cards,
Super detailed Harry Potter coloring book,
Money from Uncle Jason and Aunt Rasy... and yes, he is checking to make sure it is real :)
Bow and arrow from Aunt Jamie!
Cool science toys from Grandma and Grandpa!
Including a rock tumbler :)
At 9 years old, Nathan never ceases to amaze me. He is still a very tender, kind-hearted boy (with a warrior inside!). He loves to learn, is writing his own chapter book about soccer ball that makes people loose their memory when they kick it (so creative!). He LOVES being a cub scout. In fact, he set a goal when he started last year to earn every single wolf adventure, and he made it- barely! When I asked him what he thought the best part of being 9 was going to be he answered, "Being a Bear!"
He is a super great big brother, a great singer, an amazing soccer player, a fearless disciple of Christ and an example to all around him of goodness. I love this boy with all my heart and am so grateful to have him in our family. I just can't believe it has been 9 years! Where have they gone?!?!?!
