Our conference and Easter weekend this time around was wonderful. We got to watch all the sessions of conference with significantly more peace than we have have to date amongst our children, had lots of yummy food and the company of family here and there for the festivities.
To start things off, the kids got a package from Grammy and Grandpa Ard!
On Saturday, while the boys went to priesthood meeting, we made a bunch of Easter sugar cookies!
These were for decorating on Sunday. Yummy!
During the Sunday morning session Hannah let me braid her hair :)
On Sunday morning I got up early and made my very first cinnamon rolls from scratch, I have to say they were SUPER tasty!
We also added in some ham and cheese quiche as well as some fruit to balance things out :)

The kiddos were all sporting their new digs from Grammy and Grandpa Ard- THANKS!
Levi has now learned to say "Mickey Mouse"- and asks for this shirt whenever he gets dressed :)
These are a few pictures of the kids playing in the ice aftermath of the last ice bucket, which took place that morning!
Nathan is also in love with his new glow in the dark ninja shirt, and took a proper sparing stance for his picture :)
Between sessions we dyed boiled eggs, which was a first for Rasy!
Everyone worked hard on their creations, and had fun making them.
While the eggs were drying we frosted and decorated the cookies. This is one of Nathan's favorite things to do. He calls them painting cookies because he likes to use a paint brush (a fresh, never been in paint, paint brush) to do his icing.
What a beautiful display of deliciousness!
During the Sunday afternoon session of conference the kiddos all took naps, and just before they woke up, we were visited by the Easter bunny!
Somehow we also managed to squeeze in a game of clue with the grown ups while the little ones were all sleeping, too. Love it when that works out!
That tricky Easter bunny also left a bunch of Easter eggs all over our back yard!

Nathan had blue camo eggs, some of which were quite tall! But our scrappy ninja came up with a plan for getting all of his eggs.

And also found that rummaging through everything laying about proved to be rather rewarding :)
Turns out, the little guy is quite fond of chocolate.
After the kiddos finished their hunting and gathering and settled in to "sorting" mode, we got started on our Easter dinner!
Ham with pineapples, yippeee!
All the usual goodies, including corn pudding asparagus with hollandiase, candied yams, bread rolls, and sparkling cider.
And for dessert.... Jason and Rasy made us our very own homemade Champagne cake, and it tasted SOOOOOO good!

Well, by the time we finished dinner and such it was too dark for the grown up egg hunt, but we did it for FHE the next afternoon!
The things grown people do when you throw a Texas Roadhouse gift card in for the winner!
I decided to mix things up a bit this year, though, and it worked out really well!
Everyone still got their own color of eggs they were hunting for, but instead of hiding 120 eggs in 120 hiding spots (which gets tricky!) I hid one of each persons eggs in every hiding spot.
So, if you found an egg, everyone else had one there too... so if you were too obvious you could have a close race on your hands!

Overall we had a lovely Easter. I love when it falls on Conference weekend, too because it helps to tie everything back in to the real reason for the season- Celebrating the resurrection of the Savior.
Spring is full of so much beauty and newness that it fills me with gratitude for the beauty of the world as well as the plan of salvation. I feel so blessed to have the knowledge that I do, and am able to pass that on to my children that they may know to what source they may look for redemption.
