On the Saturday before Easter a local church organized a community egg hunt- with a twist! The eggs were dropped from a helicopter! They had several fields roped off and marked for each of the age ranges, and the helicopter would come at 10 minute intervals to deliver eggs on the fields.
The kids LOVED it!
Hannah got to go first, as she was in the 0-2 range. Once the helicopter had left they gave the all clear for kiddos to go collect their bounty!
It took a minute for her to catch the vision of gather first, open later, but she got there :)
After about 3 minutes, the entire field was picked clean and we moved next door to the 3-4 year old field for Nathan's turn.
He knew what to do right away! He sprinted for the middle of the field and started gathering as fast as he could before the masses set in.
Within seconds, the field was swarmed, and in about half the time of the little folks' drop the field was again devoid of colored eggs!
They had some other fun things we gave a whirl before heading home, like a row of bounce houses!
You'll have to pardon that I and my children look slightly hobo-ish :) I was not feeling well at all that morning, and tried to pull it together last minute for the sake of the children... but make-up and personal appearance got sacrificed for the sake of making the event!
While Dad followed Nathan and did the bounce houses, Hannah and I found a nice plot of grass to rest and wait in. But what fun is waiting without a little tickle? :)
Here is the footage of the day- a little long, but captures the event! Enjoy!
