We started with just our family at home :)
The kids hung their stockings in their rooms in hopes of getting a glimpse of Santa (Hannah specifically asked him to wake her up in her letter to him this year!)
....side story for any "IN" on the magic of Santa: Jeremy was asked to wear the red suit and bring gifts in for a friend pretty early on Christmas day, so before heading over and after suiting up he paid a visit to our kids :) We recorded it on their bedroom camears and showed it to them the next morning to prove it wasn't a dream- magical indeed!
So, they came into our room pretty bright and early, stockings in hand, ready to open them!
Nathan was the first to find the Christmas pickle (an ornament that looks like a pickle that we hide on the tree and the first to spot it gets to open the first present).
And then the chaos started!
I took a few pictures of Nathan opening his gift from Santa...
and from there I took a few movies and then put my phone down and somehow didn't take any more pictures or videos for a while...guess I was just enjoying the day. Good for me!
Before long we were off to Castle Rock to join up with the rest of the family.
And more chaos!
Yikes! I surrender!
Best shop vac you'll ever own, baby!
Ancestry DNA kit or mom!
After all the other presents were done, Nathan pulled out a special present for everyone he'd been secretly working on for weeks.
He had carved a nativity out of soap and given each person in the family a piece of it along with a candy that he felt corresponded with their carving.
It was super thoughtful, and he did a pretty incredible job!

Here is the angel:
Here are a few of the videos I did take (or Hannah took some of them!). Enjoy!
Toward the end of the day we reprised the dinner from the Christmas Eve extravaganza and had another great feast together. So much time with all the family made for a great Christmas! Love you all so much.
At the end if it all- when the cookies and caroling, shopping and presents, wrapping and stockings is all gone- the reason of the season still remains: Our Savior's birth. Because of His birth, life, death and resurrection we can enjoy these treasured family relations forever- the greatest gift of all.
