2 weeks before school got out, Hannah was invited to a faux sleepover (where they do all the fun sleepover games and movie and hair etc. but go home at 9pm and sleep in their own beds)
Sounds fun, right?
Hannah was over the moon because faux or not it was her first ever sleepover (and a birthday party so all her friends from school would be there).
Not 1 hour into it...she comes home a little bit broken.
I guess jumping off of a trampoline with fuzzy slippers on can be perilous when it causes you to loose your footing and fall to the ground.
Once we got to the ER we found out that a little bit broken was actually a lot bit broken.
They tried to cast and manipulate her arm, but the fracture just wasn't lining up very well.
Initial x-ray:
After 1st manipulations and cast:
hmmm...
After 2nd manipulation and cast:
We went back the next day to the orthopedic office and they had to take that cast off and try again, and again...and since she was swollen and screaming in pain from 2 manipulations and cast removals already...they sent us to the ER again where they could sedate her before trying AGAIN.
Sure enough, after all that- we went in for a follow up at the end of the week and the bones simply wouldn't remain in alignment, so it was time for surgery.
2 rods and 3 incisions later, she wound up with her 4th cast in a week and we were on our way to recovery!
This girl is a champ!
Other May stuff... Mother's Day!
We did our traditional breakfast/brunch at the International Pancake House in DTC.
I couldn't decide what I wanted, so Jeremy ordered some of everything!
Soooo yummy.
Thsi garden veggie benedict is one of the most heavenly breakfasts EVER!
and decided between pumpkin pancakes and french toast was just too hard...so I got both!
The big Mother's day gift this year was golden circle tickets to Wicked at the Denver Center for the Perfoming Arts! SOOOO good!
And the BEST bit of news in May:
Jamie graduated from Nursing School!!!
Congrats girl!
Doesn't she look pretty!
And the sad news of May- Jason, Rasy, Kayla and Olivia Kate are moving to Arizona. Boo.
Dallin and Kayla are such good buddies.
I just can't get enough of these two! I can't even bring myself to edit this clip at all :)
(A special love in my heart for the pronunciation of the word "Popsicle")
Enjoy!
